The boring life of Jerod Poore, Crazymeds' Chief Citizen Medical Expert.

You still haven't found what you're looking for

Every now and then I get fed up with all the whining I've done about my boring life and how much it sucks.  Considering how I don't live in Haiti, Pakistan, Afghanistan, or wherever people wish they had my problems I don't have much cause for complaint.

So if you were looking for things like "Whaleshit on the Bottom of the Ocean," or "Nothing Nice," they've been relegated to bit heaven some time ago and are unlikely to return.  I've been using what time I have when I'm functional enough to do more than feed the cats and wash dishes to work on long-overdue improvements to Crazy Meds.  I may whine more here in the future.  If you're lucky, I won't.

I was looking for your old blog (the one from 2002) some time ago and was dismayed that I couldn't find it.

It helped me a lot a few years ago when I was severely depressed and it was the only thing I could read.

Seriously? Surely there's much, much better stuff out there. What you could possibly get from mine?

Inspiration?
Schadenfreude?
A little of each?

I haven't been maintaining this blog lately, so there may be more blogs to add to the panoply of stupidity.

Here's what I do, which helps me a lot. I have a laptop that is mostly used as a radio. Every night I have the BBC World Service news feed on all night. It helps me sleep. I've listened to the news all night since I was 11 or twelve. Somehow hearing about people whose lives were so much worse than mine is comforting.

I wouldn't say schadenfreude, it was just a very particular thing I used to go through when heavily depressed- this special frame of mind where everything (tv, books, internet, computer games, poeple) is an assault to your senses.

Everything apart from reading of the suffering of others.

It started from your blog, moved on to books like cucko's nest, girl interrupted, i never promised you a rose garden and found its ultimate expression in... Elizabeth Wurtzel.
